Stepping it up with your smartphone
Almost everyone has a smartphone and almost everyone takes pictures with their smartphone. Smartphone cameras have come a long way and many of them have pretty decent photo capturing abilities.
Up until now, however, if you wanted an actual printed picture from images captures with your smartphone, you had to upload them to a third-party and then have them delivered, or go pick them up. Prynt aims to change this with their new smartphone case.
It’s like a real-time Instagram
Prynt has developed the first printer case for smartphones. It is like Instagram in real-time. The Prynt smartphone case is compatible with iPhone 5 and 6, as well as Galaxy S4 and S5.
To use the Prynt case, you simply slide your smartphone in and you can print photos directly from your phone, in less than a minute. You can print photos already on your phone, or take new pictures and print them to share with friends and family. The case has its own battery, does not require Bluetooth, Wifi, or printer ink (the ink is inside the paper: think Polaroid-like).

But wait, there’s more!
You can also create short videos with the Prynt app. When you’re posting your photos, it will record a short video and store it in the cloud, then, when you hold your phone over the printed image, the app will automatically scan and recognize it; showing your movie on the screen in augmented reality.
While this may not replace current printing options, it is a fun way to share images that may otherwise be forgotten on your phone. It’s a bit like Polaroid for the new generation. This may also open the market for other printing innovations, such as more mobile 3D printing, smaller wireless printing options, and foldable, compact printing options for business people on-the-go. While Prynt may be more of a novelty, it has the potential to open the gates for so much more.
