Clean up your inbox in minutes

Remember that random website you gave your email address to get that 10% off coupon? Me neither. All I know is, they’re one of the dozens of senders cluttering my inbox, making it more and more unmanageable.

Enter SaneBox. This email filter service promises to “clean up your inbox in minutes!”

SaneLater to the rescue

The service automatically cleans up your inbox by rerouting unimportant messages into a new folder called SaneLater. Essentially, SaneBox acts as a massive filter for your inbox.

What separates it from other email filters? It cleans your inbox intelligently. By looking at variety of factors including which emails you open, how quickly you open an email, how quickly you respond, how often, etc., SaneBox learns who you do and don’t swap emails with. You also train it by moving messages from the SaneLater folder into your inbox, or vice versa. This tells it which emails you want to allow through. You can also update your trainings on the SaneBox website via your personalized dashboard.

A better email experience

Aside from SaneLater, there are a few other folders SaneBox uses to manage your inbox. The SaneCC folder houses emails you’re CC’d in for you to review later. For senders you never want to hear from again, there’s SaneBlackHole. Dragging an email into this folder sends any future emails from that sender straight to the trash. You can also configure SaneAttachments to automatically upload email attachments to Dropbox, Box, Evernote, or Google Drive.

SaneBox is quite effective at de-cluttering your inbox, leading to a much better email experience. Of course the fear with such a service is that you may miss an important email. To combat that, SaneBox sends you an email digest summarizing which emails were automatically filtered. Plus, there’s no software to install.

Snooze isn’t just for mornings

Other features include reminders you can set to notify you when an email isn’t responded to by a certain time, so you can follow up on it. Another nifty feature is Snooze Folders, which defer messages from going into your inbox right away.

SaneBox does charge for its service. Depending on your needs, plans start at $7.00 per month and go up to $36 per month. Visit SaneBox to try it for free for 2 weeks.
