Yapp: easily create your own free mobile app for events

While there are incredible options on the market for sophisticated event apps, Yapp serves the free, DIY small businesses that want to give event apps a shot.

Bridging offline events with the web more efficiently

Have you ever wanted to create an awesome app, but you’ve lacked the experience, know-how, or even the funds to do it? Say you’re planning an out-of-the-office work function or a local industry-based workshop. Rather than having to send spam-like emails or creating an ordinary Facebook group that isn’t all that engaging, imagine what you could accomplish if you could create an interactive app for all those involved and invited. It would make the information on your event convenient and easily accessible, potentially making for a better turnout. Yapp makes that possible.

Inspired by the lack of options when it came to easily creating an app for one of her events, co-founder Maria Seidman decided to create her own platform. She believes that technology doesn’t have to be solely for the technologically advanced. It should be readily available to everyone, from novice to expert. While the Yapp platform is geared toward consumers, it would be the perfect solution for many small businesses and one-man or one-woman shows.

Yapp is completely customizable, including themes, which makes it even easier to create the app you envision, or maybe even something better than you envision. According to Yapp’s homepage, their platform is being used for book clubs, sports teams, weddings, and poker nights. Any event you can dream up, Yapp can do.

Range of available features on Yapp

Yapp has many available features to choose from. You can add as many pages as you want on your app, and those pages are customizable—meaning you can rearrange them and rework them as you see fit. You can make your app public or private, depending on the nature of your event. When you add a new page or you update an existing page, it is instantly published live. Yapp is as simple as it gets. All you have to do is include the content you want on the app, and it creates the rest of it for you.

Whether you’re having a professional luncheon with clients or you’re planning your work Christmas party, Yapp gives you the tools to get the app you want and need. The best part is that Yapp does all the work. And you don’t have to pay a penny. It’s completely free, so there shouldn’t be anything holding you back from just taking it for a little spin around the block.
