Let’s face it, sometimes photos we do ourselves for our marketing campaigns or even photo sets we’ve hired a professional to do aren’t always perfect and need a little editing. Sometimes we’re reusing images we bought years ago and need to improve them, but retouching photos isn’t exactly easy unless you’re proficient in photo editing software or Photoshop.
There are a variety of services online and the above retouching of a listing photo was done by RetouchProShop.com, a small outfit in India that offers photo retouching for headshots, listing images, product listings for websites or print marketing, and offers restoration of older photos. The company says they are experts in clipping path services which is the removal of items from the background of a photo.
While some oppose photo retouching, it is a common practice in most industries be it retail, real estate, blogs, e-commerce and others. If you have a designer you already work with for your professional photography or graphic design, ask to see their portfolio of retouched photos in a way that gives you before and after images so you can see their skill level and if the reproduced images look realistic and not overly processed – if they turned Grandma into a 20 year old, that is a skill but isn’t want anyone should be looking for.
Have you used retouching or editing in any photography for your line of work? Have you seen quality work or poor retouching work? Tell us about it in comments.
