Norweigan guest room
Most of the talk around the office here at AGBeat is laser focused about economic trends, real estate brokerage shifts, technology and apps, but several of us have secret obsessions with interior design and decor and between all of us, we subscribe to dozens of design blogs to read in our off time.
Realtors often come across sellers that can’t afford a stager (although many staging companies are very reasonable in this down economy), or are simply looking to step up the aesthetics of their offices.
Several trends that are hot right now: medium sized chandeliers (the sparklier or shinier the better) in any room or office, turquoise, bold prints and repurposed flea market finds.
Norweigan blogger “Fjeldborgen” writes about her house and the constant transformation. We cannot read a word of her site and Google Chrome does a horrendous job of translating the text, but the pictures tell the complete story:

Real estate marketing note:
Besides getting some interior design and staging notes from the makeover, we want to point out that it is so much more than just a before and after picture. Flowers, vases and other natural elements are photographed and neatly collaged via blog to present a feeling she was going for in the makeover.
When you’re blogging about your listings, feature more than just interior shots and a front shot and either shoot or have your photographer take some atmosphere shots like a close up of the flowers in the front garden or the vintage door knobs in the kitchen, the new sink faucet or a close up of the new glass tile backsplash. Making buyers feel the home is so important, and atmosphere shots are an amazing way to do that!
