Looking at some select Austin startups
As The American Genius is based in Austin, Texas, we make a habit of keeping track of inspiring startup businesses, as well as startups that are useful for other entrepreneurs. Hereโs a summary of some of the coolest new businesses founded in Austin. In a city of startups, itโs to be expected that many new businesses are out to help other small businesses improve their marketing, social media engagement, and promotional materials. There are brands that will inspire you to think outside of the box, so let’s take a look at some companies that are keeping Austin weird:
Get anything delivered, stat
Favor is a smartphone app you can use to get anything delivered, from coffee to office supplies, even if the original company or service doesnโt provide delivery. Itโs a personal assistant for the modern age.

Spredfast is a startup of marketing experts specializing in social media. They provide a number of different software platforms for creating social media campaigns, connecting to customers, and analyzing your customer data.
Improve your business by educating yourself

Up your investment game
DRAFT is an app that uses crowdsourced data to help you improve your investment game.
Others handwrite your letters for you
Want to give your customers the personal feel of a handwritten letter, but simply donโt have time? MailLift does it for you.
Check your entire site for grammatical errors
When it comes to your marketing materials, donโt rely on spellcheck to get it right. Correctica can scan your emails, PDFs, and websites for a wide range of grammatical and content errors.
Think outside of the box
Moving? The reusable, rentable Bronko Box is a cheaper and more environmentally friendly alternative to the old cardboard-and-tape arrangement.
Find inspiration in Mitscoots’ philanthropy

Keep up the good work, startups of Austin!

What about Uberpong? This company has been around longer than some of these and created a great business and brand from nothing.

Ooh good one, Steven! I actually met Uberpong founder, David Lowe, digitally before he moved to America, and absolutely adore their idea, model, and hustle. You're right, they're a really cool part of the startup ecosystem.
We wrote about them a few years back for those that don't know Uberpong: https://theamericangenius.com/entrepreneur/startup-passion-ping-pong-passion-design/
*Note: as mentioned, this list of 9 is not a "best of" or "top 9" list, it's just a sampling of some cool stuff going on in Austin; we'll be doing more roundups! ๐
