User Feeling Option concept
Korean design graduate, Jeong Jaewan has captured attention with his “User Feeling Option (UFO)” smartphone concept that sits just at the intersection between phone, projector and television.
The UFO concept smartphone implements flexible LCD screens and seeks to take advantage of cloud computing. This breakthrough mobile device functions as a fully equipped media center with a widescreen display, standard smartphone features (SMS, calls, web), but also a music player, a movie player, a projector to screen presentations or videos.
The projector is the standout feature of the UFO device, but also creates a projected keyboard in place of a physical keyboard, displaying a keyboard on any flat surface that responds to touch just as a standard keyboard.
While Jaewan’s design is still a concept and not on the market, it is in line with current trends of flexible materials in smartphones and the ability for mobile devices to remain compact while offering full media options and behaving more like a tablet or laptop than a simple smartphone.
