It’s finally here. SXSW 2011 is fast approaching and it’s time to begin preparation for the 2011 panel. Last year, we held the first and only real estate panel at SXSW, packing the room full of developers, investors, and consumers seeking to discuss disruption in the real estate space. Our core focus was to gauge where folks seeking to enter the realm of real estate and technology were thinking and heading.
Although we weren’t surprised at the deep level of thought we witnessed from the crowd of technology experts, we were surprised at the demand from the consumer side in comparison as were many of the developers and investors. Anyone in the room looking for a sense of where consumer demand is heading surely got a heads up and a head start.
This year, however, will be different. We’re looking at a four to five pro panel complete with innovators from around the country, both pro and con in nature. It should be exciting stuff as we’re not inviting the echo chamber. Instead, we’re looking at only the most notable opinions and backgrounds in and out of the real estate space.
But first, we’ll need your help. We rarely ask our audience for anything but participation, but we need you now more than ever. Please, even if you’re not attending, vote us up in the SXSW panel picker. Our intention is to bring the conversation to you via interactive highlights so that you can see what’s in store for real estate in your very near future. We were the only real estate panel last year, and we anticipate the same to be true this year, as vendor hosted panels are despised in the SXSW community.
SXSW isn’t the type of conference you’re used to attending. The Interactive segment of the conference are the elite to beginner level in technology and we’re expecting an interesting sneak peek.
We’ll be bringing you updates on the nominees for the panel leaders very shortly. If you have a nominee in mind for the debate- please, email talk @ agentgenius.com with the subject “SXSW discussion.” Don’t be shy in nominating yourself, we’d love to hear from you.
Again, please vote us up right now and spread the word- thanks! Stay tuned for updates!

Was reading through the description and you’re posing some real newsy questions. Should be a lively discussion. Hoping to be there to see it all.
