Manage G+ Pages through HootSuite and others
As part of a pilot program, third party apps HootSuite, Buddy Media, Hearsay Social, Involver, Context Optional and Virtue will be able to offer their users Google+ Page management, offering Circle management, the ability to update Google+ from their dashboard and more.
HootSuite announced today that their users can update Google+ from the HootSuite dashboard, search Google+ posts, view streams, manage circles, view users who +1 on posts, share and comment, and they say they offer analytics for individual Google+ pages.
Google+ Pages launched to great fanfare, finally allowing brands into the network, but the sore spot for us and other companies is that Pages do not yet allow multiple managers, so all Page activity is limited to its creator, which we assume will change in the future as it is extremely limiting to big brands with multiple social media managers or brands that want to hand over their account to another division or company.
This is a positive step for Google+ to allow in the third party apps and it could help adoption as many people simply set up accounts and forgot about Google’s social network. Being able to manage Google+ from the same dashboard as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others is a feature social media marketers are desperately seeking and small business owners and professionals are also looking for to streamline social media efforts.
