Tumblr is super easy
Do you remember when we talked about using Tumblr as a single property website tool? Lots of ideas were passed around in comments and on Twitter about real estate uses for blog platform, Tumblr centered around its ease of use and simple interface.
Huge changes to Tumblr
Although as a mainstream user, you won’t see the changes, Tumblr just announced huge theme upgrades giving theme designers the ability to utilize a newly enabled list of advanced appearance options from custom fonts, custom text (for widgets), custom images and booleans (for toggling).
Big whoop, so what?
Any time an open source platform announces to designers that big changes have arrived, you should expect not only for the quality of themes to go up but the amount of options to increase as well. This is awesome news because these upgrades mean that as you set up a Tumblr blog to feature your new listing, brokerage, or otherwise, you’ll have more sophisticated and unique themes to choose from, and the number of options you’ll have will increase, and that’s always good for the business of marketing.
While we’re talking about Tumblr, tell us if you’re a tumblr and what you use it for and what kind of themes you think the theme directory is missing so designers can direct their energy toward themes that will be more highly used.

Lani – I set up Tumblr a long time ago and it just gets fed my posts from different places. I did go take a look at it and changed the design. Now it matches the colors I use in my other marketing, but still not sure how to promote it or make it work for me.
I have my blog set to post to Twitter, then it posts to Facebook and lately I have multiple posts showing up on Facebook. I need to reign in the links before I start adding posts to yet another online presence.
Thanks for the heads up!
