Fashion is changing, paving the way for other industries
Google has tried to make searching more user-friendly and relevant, but people still search using words. When you’re shopping for clothes, do you know the difference between a sweetheart and bateau neckline? Maybe you know what type of purse you like, but you have no way of describing it with words.
Sure, you can go to the store’s website and search, but that has some of the same limitations. It’s clunky to shop for specific items. Donde Fashion is changing the way women shop for fashion.
Find what you’re looking for, stat
Donde Fashion is a new app that lets you find exactly what you’re looking for in just a few seconds. With Donde Fashion, you have the option to shop for dresses, shirts, pants, purses, and shoes. Instead of using words to describe your choices, Donde uses images to describe necklines, sleeves, colors, and shapes, most of which are difficult to put into words.
Try asking for a navy blue skirt with a diagonal hemline in a search engine box. With Donde, it searched for the exact item that you’re looking for. You can even filter by price and occasion. Currently, it has around 6,000 items with more being added all the time.
The app is also interactive
One feature that’s great with Donde is that you can ask for advice from your friends who are using it. Interact with others about your purchases, which you can make directly within the app. You even have the option of saving an item and watching for it to go on sale. In just a few seconds of playing with the app, I found a Vera Bradley handbag from Macy’s that fits my style. I was impressed.
Donde Fashion is only available in the Apple store right now. I wish that it had a searchable feature by size. If you’re in a hurry, it’s a great solution. If you’re looking for a shopping experience, I think it falls short. While it does try to integrate with your social network, it isn’t the same as going to the mall and trying on clothes and spending time with someone. However, if you’re pressed for time and just want to get some new clothes, check it out.
