Real estate pros who still fax – do it from your browser

Recently launched HelloFax is a new YCombinator funded company which has set out to solve the simple problem of faxing, which real estate still heavily relies upon. E-signatures is one option, yet not all have caught on to the technology, so we’d like to introduce an alternative to the traditional fax.

HelloFax is still free for the first twenty pages, we don’t know when it will go to a standard pay version, but we suspect it will be more reasonably priced than a Kinko’s, based on our experience with other YCombinator projects.

So with HelloFax, you can upload a file, enter the destination fax number or email, sign it and hit send and voila, you’re done! No scanners, no eFax number you’ve been assigned to memorize, nada.

We really like this idea for the less tech savvy consumers who are on the go- your Dallas client happens to be in Key West and they can’t figure much out other than how to open an email, so HelloFax is a pretty simple solution.

Here’s how it works (it’s super simple):

Upload, hit send and you’re done. It’s not the only alternative on the market, and for real estate, electronic signatures are technically superior, but some agents and some consumers just won’t catch on, so HelloFax is superior to the crummy ol’ fax machine.

I’m to the point that I won’t freely even admit I HAVE a fax# as I really DON’T want people to use it. Scanning and emailing is so much better.

This may be what we need to send short sale packages to lenders’ fax numbers. (I hate faxing, but when they insist they can’t receive an email, we don’t have a choice!)

    I’ll try it next time!

I use eFax and have for about 10 years. But now that I found this [Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 Instant PDF Sheet-Fed Scanner] This has made paperless so much easier. It saves me more time than I ever would have imagined. I highly recommend it.

Lani, Joseph here, the cofounder of HelloFax. Thanks for writing about us!

One thing I wanted to mention – you can also sign + fill out forms within hellofax. You can draw your signature with your mouse, upload an signature image or use your smartphone.

Anyway, thanks again for the write up. If you have ideas about how we can better reach realtors, I’d love to hear about it.

    Cheers,
    Joseph
