Vimeo is a wicked iPhone app
What we hate about the app world is that all too often an “app” is just a mobile-friendly website and nothing more. Not with Vimeo, they have created an app that lets you film, edit (slice, dice, add effects), watch and share all from your iPhone. If you haven’t seen the video above, you should check it out, it shows you all the functionality in a short video.
We imagine this could be an amazing tool for agents in the field. At a local board meeting about homeowner rights and want to get word out to your community? Film, edit and share while you’re still in your seat!
Driving on your way home and see a pocket listing that fits a buying client’s needs? A creative way to show them is to film the property and send it to them before you’ve even put the keys back into the ignition.
Maybe you’re at a conference and you just saw a panel on some new technologies- film, add your own commentary (“you can expect that I will be experimenting with these tools to improve our team’s offering and improve the number of eyeballs on your home”), edit and tweet.
It’s impressively fast and appears to be quite easy to use. Let us know what you think of it when you try it out- post a sample test video in the comments below!
The American Genius is news, insights, tools, and inspiration for business owners and professionals. AG condenses information on technology, business, social media, startups, economics and more, so you don’t have to.

Great app. Cool idea, but I wouldn't say that real estate fits the "non-commercial" spirit of Vimeo. I wouldn't be surprised if Vimeo booted a real estate video off the site. Be great if YouTube or one of the other hosting providers could come up with a similar easy to use app and UI. Is there another one out there?
