Touch free phones
In recent years, we’ve moved from a stylus to control our smartphones to our fingers and a concept phone proposed in a University student project sheds light on the potential future of smartphone technologies.
In the video above, they call it the “imaginary phone” giving users the opportunity to control their phone even when it’s not in their hand.
Although it is just a student project, it is akin to a concept car and if you’ve ever been to a car show, you know that the final product that hits the market isn’t the same as the concept car, but the key elements that you got to preview are.
The Imaginary Phone could be useful for when your phone is deep in your purse or deep in your pocket and can’t be accessed easily. Imagine being at a seminar or in a meeting and someone doesn’t have to fumble for that awkward period of time as their phone blares with full volume.
For naysayers who feel it isn’t humanly possible to operate a smartphone without looking, an entire American teen population that can text from their pocket while looking you in the eye (yes, even on a touch screen phone) begs to differ.
What do you think of the implications of this possible technology? You’re the first of your friends to know about this potential technology, so tell us- what uses do you see for it? Or do you think it’s best as a party trick?

No doubt in my mind that we will be there sooner rather than later. I would think it will make multi-tasking via cell phone almost seamless. Perhaps even multiple cell phones?
