Anatomy Lesson

Got Your Attention?
Not that anatomy. Anatomy Ads. It’s a new site that allows you to monetize – something many real estate bloggers are wondering about.

Maximize Your Size
Start small. As traffic increases so does your advertising (think money-making) power. Got popular content? Get paid for those hours at the keyboard based on page views. Capitalize and build your brand by connecting with your readers.

Want To Run With The Big Dogs?
If you’re ready to join the big boys, be the advertiser. Just like Nike advertising on ESPN, hook up with your mortgage broker, agent, inspector or stager. If you’ve got a service provider with the juice get in on the action by supporting their business and promoting yours.

The Pitch
Anatomy Ads is in competition to win TradeVibes’ Fever Pitch contest. The winner receives an hour meeting to present their idea to angel investor Ron Conway. So get on over there and sign up before it explodes and you have to get in line. Then vote bull for this innovative idea.

For some reason, I have not wanted to even consider monetizing the blog (other than lead generation). I am not sure why. Philosophical reasons I guess. I would be curious to see how others are doing it in an unobtrusive way. Thanks for the tip. I will have to check out the anatomy ads.

Wow, the anatomy ads service looks pretty slick, I’ll have to check it out! I can see how selecting a lender, inspector and maintenance service would be really cohesive on my own blog… thanks for sharing, Vicki, I’m pretty confident that Anatomy Ads will win!!!

Ginger – Check it out. It’s not for everyone but it’s a big topic in our world right now.

    Lani – Reciprocity again!

For me, I think it somewhat depends on who your audience is to which you are blogging in the first place. If you are talking to peers (or some other non-client audience), monetizing the site may be a smart way of making some bucks on the side. However, I choose not to monetize a blog focused on my clients as an audience simply because I’ve worked so hard to get them there in the first place – giving them an “easy out” to leave me and go somewhere else by dangling the next shiny new toy on my site isn’t something I’m willing to do.

Good points Jennifer – I many links on my site, including a blog roll, that may pull people away. My site has to have a lot of interest to get the visitor to stay.
