Real estate photography websites
In searching for a professional real estate photographer, there are a lot of outdated, difficult to navigate websites that give the potentially talented photographer a bad name. In an industry that is so acutely aware of the impression that visuals leave on consumers, it is shocking that there are so many terrible websites by real estate photographers.
We recently came across MarylandPhotoInc.com that not only features high quality photography but offers a beautiful website that showcases their work in a modern, streamlined way. By clicking the image above, you can see a larger version of the website that has easy to understand navigation, sliding images on the landing page that are large and high resolution. MarylandPhotoInc.com gives their value proposition right up front and explains the benefit of hiring them and offers a great variety of work for their gallery/portfolio.
Real estate photographer websites are often guilty of showing very few images, overloading their sites with text, links and widgets and rarely explain their value proposition (although many are great about blogging about their children or a blade of grass they photographed).
Point of comparison:
As a point of comparison, here is a company abroad that isn’t the worst, but compared with the image above falls flat on its face (click photo below to enlarge):
Comparing the two sites, which one seems the most capable of presenting high quality visual appeal? Which one of the two understands modern marketing, and similarly, which of the two is prepared to comprehend your marketing needs?

Wow…that second website really needs some help. But the first one is amazing. You are trying to sell your photos – they need a site that tells people you can take photos!
Photography is very important in real estate. I'm appalled at what I see on the MLS. I make sure that my listings are shown in their best light. Agents sometimes hire me to take photos. If you don't have an eye to photography – get someone who does. There is no excuse for shabby photos.
