15 books recommended by YOU
When you ask someone for a recommendation on books, they are often stereotypical answers with the same few popular books making the rounds, or they’re recommendations on whatever book they got for free at a conference.
Instead of soliciting regurgitated titles, we asked our readers on Facebook and Twitter what the last business book they actually bought and read was, and what their main takeaway was. The answers were fascinating and helpful.
Below are the top 15 must read business books that you, our readers, recommended. They are in alphabetical order by book title, not be preference, and you can click any image to access the actual title (these are not affiliate links, we get nothing other than sheer happiness if you click a “buy” button).
Tell us in the comments below what business books you recommend, and which of the following you’ll be adding to your summer or fall reading list!
Lani is the COO and News Director at The American Genius, has co-authored a book, co-founded BASHH, Austin Digital Jobs, Remote Digital Jobs, and is a seasoned business writer and editorialist with a penchant for the irreverent.

Skip all the noise and go straight to this book – Insanely Simple “The Obsession That Drives Apple’s Success” by Ken Segall. I must have listened to this book ten times by now since I I got it two months ago. I’ll continue to listen just for inspiration. A quote from the book – “Complexity is easy, simplicity is hard work.”
