Staircases have always been the heart of a home but have been neglected by designers for decades, offering few options in homes other than ultra-modern mansions. Now, architects and designers have shifted some well-deserved attention to staircases and doing more than frame art, but getting creative with paint, shape, creative rails and various building products.
We are seeing glass pop up more and more, even in traditional homes, all in the stairwells of American houses. Some use is modern with walls of glass, others offer actual steps made from glass, while others use glass accents. Realtors should be aware of the trend to offer buyers ideas as they dream of remodeling and homeowners should consider simple glass installation over traditional wood railing for a pop!

I think Steve Jobs actually holds the patent on these. Just don't take the stairs in a skirt haha.

That's EXACTLY what I was going to mention, wearing dresses and glass stairs don't mix too well, lol

I'd love to see this type of design on the staircases at the luxury beach properties with etched glass! I've seen all types of glass design typically on the front door or by utilizing frosted and etched glass as the only material as the front door and this would bring the concept together in a stunning statement.
