Interior design trend spotting
Whether you are spicing up your home or office for yourself, or staging a home for sale, there are some fabulous interior design trends that are quite inexpensive yet make a dramatic impact. One of those accents we are seeing in the design world is sink accents, but rather than expensive blown glass or crazy shapes or designer installations, sinks are being stripped down to plumbing and ceramic and when the underside is painted a bold color, the entire room is suddenly accessorized in a memorable, beautiful way.
Powder coating, semi-gloss oil-based paint or even take the entire sink to an auto body shop as one homeowner did (see the blue sink below). Kohler is now carrying a line of sinks that are pre-painted on the underside as an accent. Genius.

I love the idea of an accented sink, I would caution that once you paint it, other items in the bathroom might start to look drab and may require some touch up, otherwise your just drawing attention to how drab the other things can be in the bathroom.
