Making task lists relevant
While it’s easy to create a checklist of to-do items for the day, it can usually take a little more effort to keep everything organized. But now there’s an app that will do all of that for you. The Checkmark app allows you to create reminders with a minimum of three taps on your phone’s screen. It even allows you to create a location for each task—a home task or a task at work, for example.
Once you have the task put in and the location picked, you can then set a time-based reminder, which is perfect for time-sensitive tasks like your kid’s soccer game or a lunch meeting with a prospective client.
Yes, all of that is very impressive and useful for a task-based app, but Checkmark didn’t stop there. Checkmark will take the information you’ve input and sort your tasks by distance. This means that you can get all your tasks completed for the day without having to retrace your steps, saving you a lot of time that you can devote to your work or to your family life. This convenient feature will essentially tell you which tasks should be completed first based off of your current location so you can streamline your day.
But wait, there’s more
For your daily reminders, you can also set a timer. Say, if you have a meeting with your boss across town, you can set a task reminder fifteen minutes in advance so you know when it’s time to leave the office without having to waste time worrying about it. Because you’re not taking time to check the clock over and over before you have to leave, this feature has the potential to increase your professional productivity.
The Checkmark app is priced at just under $3 and is compatible with your iPhone, iPod, or even your iPad. However, if you want to use the location-based task reminder, you have to have either the iPhone 4 or the iPhone 4S. If you’re looking for something fresh and new in the realm of task management, Checkmark might be a good place to start, as it offers traditional, proven features alongside the new and innovative.
