A new concept for smartphones
We’ve seen a lot of amazing concepts in smartphones ranging from flexible displays to smartphones embedded in watches, and many are years away from being developed, but Kunihiko Nakata’s Palette smartphone concept shown above is that of a wraparound smartphone that uses technologies that could realistically hit the market in 2012.
The Palette concept uses “sub-displays” for faster and more efficient multitasking. “Hiding source tasks at the bottom of the wraparound screen means more room for browsing on the main screen’s display, and hiding network tasks at the top allows the user to send information simultaneously through multiple selected services like Twitter, Facebook, email, or text message,” says Yanko Design.
We like the idea of having a little big more smartphone real estate without having to carry a larger device. It also seems intuitive to have dedicated areas to particularly new communication methods. Any concept that is realistic and could actually make it to market piques our interest, plus this smartphone is drop dead gorgeous!
