Udemy courses show that people are flipping out about flipping houses

(TECHNOLOGY) Don’t stop what you’re doing and go teach, but keep your finger on the pulse of what’s changing – currently it is flipping houses.

What Real Estate Fields are People Considering?

A quick glance at the Udemy Real Estate course page reveals something interesting: the sole two trending topics are rooted in flipping and investing in property—not obtaining a realtor’s license, understanding marketing, or any other intuitive choices.

This begs the question: what’s with this newfound obsession among customers, and what can you do about it?

People Are Flipping (Out)

Udemy, for those not familiar, is essentially the Craigslist of classes. The surprising thing about Udemy’s Real Estate course-load is that—while there’s a bevy of classes on marketing, licensure, and so on—literally every class on the “Featured” page is about either flipping or investing in properties.

You have to actively open the “All Courses” section and click onto the second page of the catalogue before you find something remotely separate from these categories.

The buck doesn’t stop there, either—the top-paid classes on the site are about flipping and investing, and thousands of reviews accompany these popular courses. It doesn’t take an analytical genius to determine that people are far and away more interested in learning how to turn a profit on a property than taking advanced marketing classes or learning about more “traditional” real estate topics.

Old Dog, New Tricks

It seems that the flipping fad is making its way back around, meaning that it’s likely here to stay for a while.

As with any cultural obsession, this doesn’t mean that your first “course” of action should be to jump on Udemy and start teaching.

We’re confident that you can find plenty of ways to implement customers’ sudden fervor toward flipping and investing that don’t involve digging out your diploma—but you should be aware of this trend for future transactions.

After all, armed with the right context, you very well might end up being the person who successfully passes off a property that other realtors merely dare each other to sell.
