Beyond “Death by PowerPoint”

Have you ever sat politely through a presentation that made you want to choke out the inventor of clip art, or maybe you felt like you needed a Four Loko to keep yourself awake due to excruciating boredom? Be it a simple team meeting or a keynote speech, we’ve all seen and probably given bad speeches. There is no magical voodoo and no “three tricks” that work for every presentation or presenter.

Above is Alexei Kapterev’s newest presentation about PowerPoint, the evolution of the extremely well known “Death to PowerPoint” presentation he published four years ago. Kapterev has gone from a beginner speaker who was sick and tired of horrid PowerPoint presentations to a full fledged consultant to international speakers.

The tips in “Presentation Secrets” as outlined above are helpful for anyone presenting information to a group, be it an investor’s meeting, a speaking engagement at a conference or a presentation with clients.

    This was pretty good, and laid out in simple terms. I'll make a suggestion to ease the process. I'm sure I'll get flack from the Windows crowd. Use Apples Keynote if at all possible. Your audience will thank you. In my days as a Windows user, I fiddled with power point and I found in exhausting.

    Frankly, I don't do presentations. But if I did, Keynote would be my tool. Aside from the ease of use, Apple offers a good amount of actual video tutorials to get you started and evolve into a better presentations.
