Yeah video in vanilla WordPress is simply horrible. Well the vanilla WordPress editor is astondingly horrible to begin with. I use Blogjet for all my writing now. Just switch out to the HTML editor, copy and paste the embed code into the post, switch back out to text editor and keep writing.
And you can re-edit and re-post video posts without that retarded “go start over from the begining” bug.
I write from Blogjet for both AG and Reagent in Connecticut. I just have a little toggle up the top of the screen to switch between them.

I use ecto, and it is simply fantastic. I can’t imagine writing blogs using WP’s web interface.

I’ve always wanted to bitch about wordpress, but when I think of how many updates they spit out, how much backend support they lend, how much they do for the low low price of zero dollars, I’m okay with it.

I think Blogger offers more for it’s zero dollars than WordPress does, at least to new bloggers.
All the old timers complaining about Blogger are complaining about the pre-Google Blogger platform. The Googlized Blogger Beta is pretty strong. The WYSIWYG template editor blows anything WordPress offers out of the water in terms of ease of use and robustness.
Also WordPress doesn’t send my any traffic. About 20% of my traffic in my Blogger Blog was coming from the back end network of other Blogger blogs.
And of course the rumor is that Google spikes the juice for Blogger too.

Hi Benn, this used to drive me nuts,.. to edit the video because the code gets stripped everytime you want to edit a post.
I searched, tested and now use the Viper Video plugin.. take a look, hopefully it will help others.
here is the link, but before I want to say I’m not affiliated with the author of this plugin..

Nick, thanks, I’ll look into it… I’ve avoided others because they’re buggy, we’ll see how this one plays out… Benn
