Forcy gives any iPhone the 3D feel

With iPhone’s release of 3D Force Touch technology, the user experience is elevated. Forcy is a jailbreak that allows you to install that same technology to your older model for a small price.

What is Force Touch technology, anyway?

Apple’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models are equipped with Force Touch technology, making them compatible with the new iOS 9 3D Touch feature. This tool promises to be one of Apple’s biggest advancements yet in touch screen technology. Most smart phones have basic touch screen features that recognize swipe, pinch, tap, and hold movements, but the 3D Touch actually senses the amount of pressure applied to the screen.

3D Touch has lead to “peek and pop” gestures, which give users more app options from the home screen, and the ability to preview emails, messages, and more before opening them fully. For example, smart phone users can lightly press on an email to preview it, and then open it completely by applying more pressure.

Bring on the 3D

Until recently, 3D Touch technology was only available for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. The Jailbreak tweak “Forcy” was created to bring 3D Touch technology to all iPhones by working around Apple’s iOS restrictions. With this easy download, any Apple user can begin to benefit from the ease and convenience of 3D Touch.

After initially activating Forcy, iPhone users just hold down any app on the home screen to see all the additional options from 3D Touch. Deleting an app is as easy as holding down slightly on the icon and then flicking upwards.

When the apps go into ‘jiggle mode,’ users can delete what they don’t want.

Pricing and availability

Forcy can be downloaded for free from the BigBoss repository, a major source of apps and tweaks for iPhones. Users that experience issues with lag after downloading Forcy can also download the tweak called 3DNoLag. Forcy will adapt to most apps that 3D Touch naturally works with, like mail, messages, safari, and Apple music.

However, if Forcy users want to extend 3D Touch options to cover less traditional apps like Weather, Spotify, Settings, and more, they can download an additional tweak called Shortcuts for just $0.99 from the BigBoss repo.

Pop, peek, and jiggle

3D Touch from Apple is a great leap forward in touch technology. With easy pop and peek features, and more app options just a click away from your home screen, 3D Touch makes the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus easier and more efficient to use. Even better, with the Forcy tweak all iPhone users can benefit from 3D Touch.
