Preview of Photoshop’s Wicked New Feature – Real or a Hoax?

Real or fake?

e187bf1c1a8adaca6ebd6304c92be707In celebration of its 20th anniversary (yes, that part is real), Adobe Photoshop is releasing their newest version of Photoshop, CS5 and a video preview of a ground breaking feature called “content-aware fill” has the internet buzzing.

Adobe uploaded a video to YouTube about the new feature and despite using registered trademarks and formal bio information on their YouTube channel, there is only one video on the channel making it unclear as to whether or not the video is legitimate. Commenters ask if it’s an April Fool’s joke or if it was a hoax video created by someone who did a bunch of tricks and made it look like a “one click” solution.

I can tell you without a doubt that it is NOT a hoax- the video below is certainly on YouTube but it is ALSO featured on Adobe’s official website, Adobe TV, so this magical technology is reality. Hard to believe, but it is.

Content-aware fill feature is INSANE:

This is the coolest feature from Photoshop that I have ever seen! WOW:

Insane, indeed. That is simple amazing. I’d like to see it used on a structure rather then organic material and see how it performs. This will be worth the costly upgrade.

I was impressed with how the panoramic photo turned out, but you’re right… it probably won’t be as seamless on a skyscraper or city scape. Still incredible nonetheless! 🙂

Holy Cow!!!! Just imagine how easy it will be to remove those power lines, utility boxes, etc. from MLS photos! Imagine also removing ex’s from photos…just saying….not endorsing….well maybe the ex’s part. The time saved alone will be worth the upgrade price.

That’s what I didn’t say but WAS thinking- this will end up being used unethically in the real estate world, but in the product marketing and ad world, this will be a dream tool!
