Don’t store your receipts in a shoebox, Swipefin them

Swipefin is a new app that was created to make all of those annoying receipts disappear by aggregating them in one central location.

Everyone knows small business owners and independent contractors have a lot of work ahead of them come tax time. Keeping up with the all the little details and paperwork for filing taxes and deductions is a pain. Swipefin is a new app that was created to make all of those annoying receipts disappear, and they’re boldly stating their goal of being the number one tax prep tool for Realtors.

It is a convenient accounting tool to help you gather your expenses in one place- no more shoeboxes or spreadsheets. This thing is perfect for realtors, in fact, the people behind Swipefin had realtors in mind when creating it.

Just out of beta, they’re making big strides

The app recently came out of private beta and they’ve just partnered with Intuit so they can pull your expenses straight from your online banking institution. Once they gather all of your information (bank level security- no worries there), your purchases are pulled up individually and you swipe your phone or tablet for each transaction.

For example, if you bought a personal lunch, you swipe right, and swipe left if you bought a business lunch with your client. You can organize your expenses conveniently, right as they’re purchased on your smartphone so you’re not left digging in your glove compartment or purse for those receipts later.

You will be able to view your report in real-time too

The report shows you your personal and business expenses, income, and net. You can add notes to each particular expense if you want and attach your receipt. Swipefin has thought of all the fine points that make tax season so much easier.

When tax time comes around, all of your information is available as a report for you to either export, sync it with your tax software, or even send it right over to your CPA. Did I mention this was all free?

It’s tax season, friends

You already know how important documentation is for taxes. Swipefin wants to help you to maximize your write-off and have all the required documentation organized for you. Maybe they’ll even come up with an easy way to document mileage. If your tax paperwork upkeep has gotten a little too complicated, maybe you could try the Swipefin app to see if they can make it a bit easier.
