I have always been a fan of complaining about traveling. Not about actually checking out different places and vacationing, but about the actual act of traveling.
Flying, especially, is what garners the bulk of my complaints. Aside from being packed into a 747 like a sardine, making your way through the airport often proves to be a stressful experience.
Traveling ignites hunger
The security line, TSA pat downs, and required removal of shoes has the ability to work up an appetite for any traveler. While I haven’t been to a remarkable amount of airports in my travels, I have noticed that many of them have a good selection of eateries.
But, when you’re rushing to get to your flight on time, there sometimes isn’t enough time to stop and pick up grub. Now, like many other things, there’s an app for that.
Grab and go
Grab has been developed to bring the airport experience into the modern age. According to the website, “Grab unlocks travelers’ access to all airport dining and retail opportunities.”
By use of location, the app pools relevant content according to your path in the airport and your personal food preferences. After ordering, customers are able to skip the line and pickup their orders at Grab and Fly! express pickup locations.
Grab helps the business traveler
While this is helpful for any hungry traveler, those traveling on business have the added bonus of Grab receipts being sent directly to Concur. Grab is currently available at fifteen different airports across the United States, including: LAX, ATL, and DEN. It is expected to expand to a number of different airports in the near future.
The app brings airport dining into the 21st century and was developed by millennial entrepreneur Jeff Livney. This again plays up the importance of improving everyday experiences with technology.
Millennial innovation
Many millennials have had the luxury of living in a world before smartphone, social media, and a variety of other technologies completely took over, and the one that we are currently in. As a result, they have the knowledge of the way things have been, and the skills to improve that complacency with technology.
