Ensure that no detail falls through the cracks

With this simple method, you can avoid missing any details during any sort of real estate transaction.

As a busy REALTOR®, business can get hectic. It’s often easy for small details to be forgotten or fall through the cracks, especially when it comes to listing and closing homes.

But there’s a solution.

What I recommend are listing and closing Activity Plans. They are a great way to stay organized and in control and prevent key details from being missed.

What is an Activity Plan?

These plans consist of a series of “to-do’s” with corresponding dates. A listing Activity Plan, for instance, may consist of 30 “to-do’s” all relating to the process you’d go through when listing a home.

I recommend using your real estate contact management system to create a number of listing and closing Activity Plans. For example, a two month new listing plan, a three month new listing plan, a buyer under contract plan, and a closing plan.

Many real estate contact management systems already have different plans created for you and ready to use. Once a plan has been assigned to a listing that you’ve entered into your system, your task list and calendar will be automatically populated and you’ll be reminded what you have to do and when.

Avoiding missing any details

As you know, there’s a lot of work involved in the process of both listing and closing homes. You’re required to deliver copies of documents, take pictures, install and remove lockboxes, shoot virtual tour videos, schedule open houses, update the MLS, send progress reports, and more. Let’s face it, it sometimes gets overwhelming.  And most of us don’t have a memory like an elephant.
