2019 has been the year of TikTok. The video-based platform where users share lighthearted, often silly or goofy, 15-60 second videos of themselves, has grown exponentially. Although TikTok has seen some stumbles this year, marketers are eyeing the platform as the next big thing.
The most fascinating aspect of the platform from a marketing perspective? 66% of TikTok users are under the age of 30. Gen Z has found a new place to play and businesses want in on the party.
TikTok currently boasts just over 500 million active monthly users worldwide with 26.5 million of those users being located in the United States. They also have large user bases in China (the Chinese version is called Douyin) and India. TikTok has active users in 150 different countries across the globe. With active users spending an average of 52 minutes per day on the platform, businesses are scrambling to figure out how to make TikTok part of their marketing plan.
One startup, TikTrak, is looking to corner the market on TikTok analytics. They are in beta to target the numerous brands hoping to use TikTok to connect with the next generation of consumers.
TikTrak is a marketing intelligence tool designed to help creators and businesses effectively grow their audience on TikTok. Their platform allows users to research, track, and grow their efforts. Similar to other analytics platforms on the market, TikTrak allows users to create lists, discover trends, and track their performance on the platform.
TikTrak can help businesses make the most of TikTok at every stage of the process. The lists feature helps users discover the latest trends and identify opportunities to join the conversation. This could prove invaluable on a platform where new trends change rapidly. Once businesses create content, the insights tools can identify which of their efforts are performing well. TikTrak also does the heavy lifting on tracking active campaigns and analyzing performance.
Currently, TikTrak is using a “per seat” model for their pricing, but the company admits they may adjust their pricing plan as new features are added. TikTrak is currently in beta, so you will have to sign-up for their email list for a shot at using the platform.
