2011 Social Network Report reveals possible saturation point

When analyzing global social media, it is interesting to see the rise and fall of networks over time. MySpace serves as a good example of a network that once reigned supreme that has fallen in use and Facebook serves as an example of a network on the rise.

It is no surprise that men and women populate social networks equally, but it is surprising to us that Facebook doesn’t play a larger role in this year’s report.

Ignite Social Media analyzed global statistics for the findings below, so you may not have heard of some of the networks, but what we’d like to point to is the first chart that shows that we are at 2009 levels in social network search interest.
