It’s not all about iPhones…
The advent of the iPhone has cemented the trend toward computing via cell phone creating a need for websites to prepare accordingly. Some websites are already iPhone friendly (and consequently in the mode of being friendly to future phones that are web-centric), while others are not, but guess what? It’s easy to prepare!
Two ways for iPhone-friendly-ization:
- WordPress Plugin– if you have a WordPress site, WPTouch is a complimentary theme installed as a plugin on your WordPress blog that automatically formats your site for an iPhone or iTouch.
- Intersquash.com allows you to simply go to their site, enter the RSS feed of your site, enter the site name, upload an icon and place the code provided between the header tags of your website. You don’t even have to have a wordpress blog!
See? It’s easy! Many sites are already iPhone-friendly in anticipation of the cell phone trend and it’s always a good idea to reach as many people as possible, even that dude on the BART tooling around on his phone, refusing to use his laptop anymore (he knows who he is, Andy).

Short and sweet, cools tips and I’ll have to check our Reggie’s suggestion too.
Danilo, you can insert HTML code into your templates if you’ve converted them to Advanced. Good luck!

Lani:
You are absolutely correct.
Everyone should have mobile optimized versions of their site and search functions. I don’t yet but it’s easy to say and I fully plan to have this at some point in the future.
Right now, I’m knee deep in daily SEO, like a lot of people. But someday, when I’ve got too much traffic, I’ll take a break from SEO and design a home page and search page for mobile devices.
Just think, a short URL on a yard sign could replace the printed Flyer as we know it someday. It will also get clients directly to your site. Presumably good ones out searching already.

Thanks for the tips! It’s good to know that iPhone can be very useful equal to its price. š
